Coverage A is the foundation of every homeowners (HO-3, HO-5) policy. It covers the dwelling structure: foundation, framing, roof, walls, mechanical systems, built-in cabinetry. The calculator on this site is designed to right-size Coverage A. Note: market value (including land) is NOT Coverage A — rebuild cost is what matters.
