HO-3 policy

Definition

HO-3 is the most common homeowners policy form. The dwelling (Coverage A) is covered on an "open-peril" basis (all causes of loss except those listed as excluded). Contents (Coverage C) are covered on a "named-peril" basis (only the perils listed in the policy). Contents are typically paid at ACV unless an RCV endorsement is added.
